Huh, this new layout's weird...

Anyways. I remembered Roxy and Chris' other idea. It was that fic is only elligable if it was started past a certain date. Chris said something about the date the last awards ended, but I think we should make it like, a week or two before the awards ended because I think with WIP's people want to see where they're going before they nominate them, so they may have been started in time for one awards period, but only had one chapter, and so people wouldn't nominate because they weren't sure yet. So if we gave a kind of an overlap it might be cool. Know what I mean?

Love how I'm the example... :) I don't have a problem with the idea that a story can't be re-nominated in consecutive editions of the awards. I still think that other stories by the same author should still be eligible for the category, however. For instance, let's say I won Best Trory for UA...UA couldn't be nominated for the next round, but, say, The Beginning of a Beautiful Friendship could.

I don't think that Chris' suggestion for category subdivisions is necessarily unfair, although I would agree that if it's done for Trory it should be done for Lit as well, due to the comparably large volumes of those stories. To make it fair, though, I think it would have to be something presented at the beginning of the nomination period. Have separate categories, such as:

Best Trory-Overall
Best Trory-Future Fic
Best Trory-AU
Best Lit-Overall
Best Lit-Future Fic
Best Lit-AU

That might eliminate the perponderance of nominations in a single category. Just my opinion.

Okay Chris, you got it wrong.

One winner from every category. But that winner can't be nominated again for the next 2 rounds. or it could be one round, or whatever number really. That's fair to all the categories. I think it's more fair than your suggestion actually, because then the Lit's are going to want subdivisions... you know what I mean?

I think that's really confusing. And sort of on the unfair side for the other categories. Since there can only be one winner from those. However, we could always create subdivisions for the Trory category, by Future, AU and Current, due to the obscence amount of nominations. Or we could suck it up and let the best Trory win.

Okay so Roxy and I are sitting here, before she leaves, going over the last few nominations... and we noticed something...

There are a LOT of extremely good Trory fics nominated. I mean, just an obscene amount! So we're thinking how it seems wrong that all these great fics are nominated and only one gets to win.

So we came up with something of a solution, but of course we want to run it by you guys first. This solution applies to all the categories....

An inelligability period for the winners. We thought maybe 2 sessions.

For instance, say Gracie won Trory this session, she couldn't be nominated for the next two. Get it?

What do you guys think?
